Each year Glenfiddich releases Vintage Reserve expression usually limited to a couple hundred of bottles. The distillery Malt Master invites a panel of whisky experts, Glenfiddich collectors and enthusiasts to join him in tasting and eventually choosing their favorite whisky from a group of pre-selected casks. Their choice would become a given year’s Glenfiddich Vintage Reserve. On October 13, 2000 the winner was cask # 9015 filled in 1961. Only 186 bottles were produced at 43.2% abv.
In his Complete Guide to Single Malt (Sixth Edition) late Michael Jackson awarded this expression 92 points out of 100, his highest scored Glenfiddich.
