Bruichladdich 37 years old (D.1965, B.2003) Legacy Series Two /41,8%/
In 2000 the independent bottler bought struggling Bruichladdich Distillery. Soon the charismatic global ambassador of Bowmore, Jim McEwan, came onboard and after a short transition period Bruichladdich became a model distillery for the 21st Century. The Legacy is a series of six expressions released annually from 2002 until 2007. Here is the second release, Bruichladdich 1965 Vintage, aged for 37 years in oak casks (the casks were personally selected by Jim McEwan). The whisky was bottled at natural strength of 41.8% abv without chill filtration, with an outrun of 1500 bottles. The label features the image of “Loch Indaal from Port Charlotte” by celebrated artist, Frances Macdonald.
