Tobermory 12 years old Manzanilla Finish / 46,3% – Tobermory Distillery is beautifully located on the Inner Hebridean island of Mull. It was founded in 1798 but became fully operational in 1823. Its name derives from the Gaelic ‘Tobar Mhoire’ meaning Mary’s Well. In ancient times a well dedicated to Virgin Mary was located at settlement of Tobermory, now capital (population about 900 souls) of the Isle of Mull. Since 1993 the distillery has been owned by Burn Stewart Distillers and produces roughly 750 000 liters of spirit per annum running at 75% of its capacity. Tobermory Manzanilla Finish was introduced in 2017; it comprises whisky aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in ex-Manzanilla sherry casks. (Manzanilla is produced from Palomino grapes and is similar to Fino sherry.)
