Jura Islander’s Expressions Barbados Rum Cask /40%/ – In the spring of 2022 Jura Distillery revealed “Islanders’ Expressions” series, a series of whiskies inspired by some of the creative collective among the Isle of Jura community. The first edition is a collaboration with jeweler and Jura native, Amy Dunnachie, aka Amy Fields. Outside the bottle there is showcased a handmade pin made by Amy, formed from copper and rope washed up from afar on Jura’s shores. The whisky is a marriage of two unique islands – Jura and Barbados – Jura single malt finished in rum casks from the Caribbean island of Barbados. The whisky is bottled at 40% abv exclusively for Global Travel Retail.
Nose: fruity, pineapples, tangerines, nectarines, coconut flakes, vanilla cream, brown sugar, hints of candied ginger and oak.
Palate: sweet, peaches, mango, grilled pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, vanilla cream, coconut cookies, cinnamon and toasted oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of tropical fruits, vanilla cream, honey, white chocolate, and toasted oak.
