Chivas Regal Ultis XX 20 years old /40%/ – According to the press release, Chivas Regal Ultis XX “is the ultimate indulgence; every bottle contains an exclusive blend of the company’s rarest and most precious single malts, married with a signature single grain.” The name ‘Ultis’ is a combination of two words – ‘ultimate’ and ‘fortis’ (Latin for ‘strength). The formula of Ultis XX consists of five single malts and one single grain, each of which brings its complexity to the whisky: Strathisla, the heart of every Chivas blend, contributes malty and fruity notes; Tormore brings rich citrus orange notes; Longmorn, creamy vanilla and toffee flavors; Allt-a-Bhainne, subtle spice and maltiness; Braeval provides a floral scent, and finally, Strathclyde adds a complex sweetness. Chivas Regal Ultis XX is a brainchild of Sandy Hyslop, made in honor of his five predecessors who held crucial roles in Chivas’ history (Charles Howard, Charles Julian, Allan Baille, Jimmy Lang, and Colin Scott).
