Laphroaig Four Oak /40% – Laphroaig Four Oak was introduced in the spring of 2017 along with The 1815 Legacy Edition as part of Travel Retail range. Within the last few years the distillery has been experimenting with various types of wood, usually with good results. This time the whisky was matured in four types of casks – American oak ex-bourbon barrels, quarter casks, virgin American oak barrels and European oak hogsheads. While an excellent Triple Wood expression was a sherry finished version of Quarter Cask, Laphroaig Four Oak adds virgin oak character found in QA Cask bottling. The whisky is bottled without age statement at 40% abv.
