Talisker 25 years old /45,8%/ – Talisker Distillery sits on the Isle of Skye, the largest and most northerly major island in the Inner Hebrides. Founded in 1830 by the MacAskill brothers, it is now owned by Diageo and produces 2.7 million liters of spirit per annum. Talisker malt enjoyed popularity locally until the late 1980s when United Distillers (predecessor to Diageo) included 10 years old expression in the original Classic Malts range. Today the brand sells 3.3 million bottles annually and is ranked no.10 best-selling single malt whisky. Talisker 25 years old was introduced in 2001 and included in the core range three years later. It has been released on an annual basis ever since. The latest release composed from American and European oak casks confirms the excellent reputation of the distillery.

Nose: peat, sea water, salted caramel, seaweed salad, iodine, orange and lemon peel, red berries, licorice, black pepper, touch of mint, candle wax and polished oak.
Palate: slightly oily, salted almonds, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, nutmeg, black pepper, Meyer lemons, blood oranges, cherries, hints of leather and distant whiff of smoke.
Finish: long and pleasantly smoky, with notes of pepper, sea salt, dark chocolate, honey, dark berries, and oak.
