Chivas Regal The Icon/ 43%/ – Chivas Regal whisky certainly does not need any introduction; it is the most popular premium blend with annual sales reaching 4.6 million cases. Recently the company extended the range with few remarkable expressions including The Icon, described as “the pinnacle of the Chivas range”. Launched in 2015 The Icon is a blend of over 20 rare Scotch whiskies including Strathisla, Longmorn and Glen Keith as well as some whiskies from the distilleries lost forever. The Icon is presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter created by the masters from Dartington Crystal. The glass is delicately etched and finished with unique metal work and its green color pays tribute to the original Chivas Regal bottle from 1909.
Nose: deep, rich, fruity and sweet with notes of honey, ripe pears, dark chocolate and orange fondant cream.
Taste: full and fruity, with flavors of sweet orange, peaches in syrup and vanilla in abundance; the sweet whisky flavors are balanced to perfection by the hazelnut flavors coming from the cask.
Finish: incredibly long, luscious and sweet.
