New scotch for tasting in Warsaw


The Singleton of Glendullan 19 years old Special Release 2021 /54,6%/ – Special Releases is a limited edition range of whiskies released each fall by Diageo. The series was introduced in 2002 and highlights the best and the rarest malt and grain whiskies from the company portfolio bottled at natural strength. The 2021 release included eight single malts – from the oldest of the bunch 26 years old Lagavulin to the youngest, Talisker 8 years old. The release is called ‘Legends Untold’ and labels feature magical creatures, such as elves and dragons; each bottle carries QR code, which when scanned will bring illustrations to life. Here we have the Singleton of Glendullan 19 years old, whisky aged in refill American oak casks, finished in cognac casks and bottled at 54.6% abv with undisclosed outrun.

Nose: very fruity, pears, grapes, dried figs and apricots, sultanas, vanilla, pound cake, marzipan, cappuccino, hints of sweet cereals and oak.
Palate: vanilla, caramel, buttered croissant, pralines, baked apples and pears, bananas, coconut flakes, hints of ginger and white pepper and toasted oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of toffee, vanilla, fruitcake, toasted oak and dash of sweet spice.
