Roseisle 12 years old The Origami Kite, 2023 Special Release /56,5%/ – The 2023 Diageo Special Releases selection, ‘Spirited Xchange’, consists of eight single malt whiskies. It was created for the first time by Diageo’s master blender, Dr. Stuart Morrison. He said: “For me, Spirited Xchange is about identifying and celebrating the ideas, flavors, and tastes that surround us each day and inspire our curiosity to create. This collection has given us the opportunity to roam freely through our vast portfolio and experiment with old and new cask types, including various wine and local spirits casks to create eight one-of-a-kind expressions that we’ve never imagined before”. Roseisle 12 years old ‘The Origami Kite’ is the first official release from Diageo’s largest malt distillery (founded 2009). The whisky was aged in first fill bourbon barrels and refill casks.
Nose: sweet and fruity, vanilla, caramel, pound cake, apples, pears, peaches, lime curd, white pepper, hints of hay and candle wax, and oak.
Palate: vanilla, marzipan, honey, buttered croissant, peaches, lychee, pineapple, baked apples sprinkled with brown sugar, white pepper, and subtle herbal notes.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, honey, caramel, tropical fruits, mixed herbs, and oak.
