Ardmore 11 years old (D.2009, B. 2021) Red Wine Octave Finish, The Single Cask /55,7%/ – The Single Cask Ltd. was founded by Ben Curtis in 2010 and initially operated as Malt Vault Co. It is a whisky shop, bar and independent bottling company with offices located in London and Singapore. Their whiskies are bottled ‘one cask at a time’ always at natural strength, without chill-filtration and of natural color. Here we have Ardmore distilled on December 16, 2009, aged in oak barrel and finished in red wine octave cask # 709249 then bottled at 55.7% abv on February 18, 2021 with an outrun of 82 bottles. Ardmore Distillery is owned by Beam Suntory and equipped with four pairs of stills can produce over 5 million liters of spirit per annum. Ardmore malt has been a key component to Teacher’s blends.
Nose: malty and peaty, raspberries, strawberries, cherries, orange peel, green tea, toffee, honey, nutmeg, charred oak and touch of mixed herbs.
Palate: malted barley, ripe red berries, caramel, milk chocolate, barbecued meats, roasted nuts, nutmeg, oak and distant whiff of smoke.
Finish: fairly long, mildly smoky, with notes of red berries, roasted nuts, black pepper, nutmeg and oak.
