The Macallan Classic Cut 2022 Edition /52,5%/ –
The Macallan Classic Cut was lunched in the US in the fall of 2017. The whisky was aged in American and European oak sherry seasoned casks from Jerez, Spain and bottled at 58.4% abv (the label didn’t carry “casks strength” statement). It was the first Macallan release with such high abv in years, ready to compete with Aberlour a’bunadh, Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso Cask and Glenfarclas 105. The Macallan Classic Cut 2017 edition was the first in a new series of annual releases that celebrate the company ongoing commitment to seek out the extraordinary and creating whiskies of unique character. The 2022 release is a vatting of American oak and European oak casks bottled at 52.5% abv. (Tasting note by Steven Bremner, Macallan Whisky Maker.)
