Aberlour White Oak 2007 (Bottled 2017)/40%/ –
The picturesque Aberlour Distillery is located in the heart of Speyside, in the namesake village. t has been owned by Pernod Ricard since 1974, in fact it was the first Scottish distillery acquired by the French company, currently no. 2 whisky producer in the world. Aberlour sales has been steadily rising, in 2016 they crossed 4 million bottles mark, what makes the brand the world’s sixth most sold single malt whisky. While most of the official bottlings comprise whiskies aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks the White Oak expression is aged exclusively in the former. The 2007 Vintage was part of the 2017 distillery range.
Nose: fruity and malty, oranges, apples, pears, bananas, coconut shavings, vanilla, toffee, scent of spring meadow and toasted oak.
Palate: very fresh, honey, vanilla, milk chocolate, buttered toast, ripe apples, peaches and grapes, hints of cinnamon and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, summer fruit, hints of licorice and oak.
