New scotch for tasting in Sopot

Glenfarclas 2008 (B.2017) Christmas Edition Oloroso Sherry Cask /46%/ – Glenfarclas Distillery has been famous for its strict wood policy and employing sherry wood for maturing whisky with an emphasis on ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The owners also proudly claim not aging their spirit in fresh bourbon barrels and express their reluctance to experiments with different wood, or as they call it, “weird casks”. Here we have lovely ‘Christmas Malt Whisky Edition’ comprising Glenfarclas distilled on December 4, 2008 and aged in three ex-sherry hogsheads and two ex-sherry butts for over 8 years. Bottled for the German importer at 46% abv on May 16, 2017 with an outrun of 2400 bottles. The current sales of Glenfarclas brand are north of 800,000 bottles.
