Glen Garioch Virgin Oak Small Batch No.2 /48%/ – Glen Garioch is one of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland. Founded 1797 by John Manson it is currently owned by Beam Suntory and equipped with three stills, out of which one has not been used for a long time, can produce about 1.3 million liters of spirit per annum. The recent bottlings are basically unpeated but until 1994 the distillery was operating its own maltings and barley was malted to the specification of approximately 10ppm phenols. Glen Garioch Virgin Oak was introduced in 2013. Here we have Batch No. 2 from 2019 comprising whisky aged exclusively in virgin white American oak barrels.
