Hazelburn Distillery operated in Campbeltown from 1825 to 1925. Roughly 70 years later J.&A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd, the owners of Springbank Distillery brought the brand back to life with limited production of triple-distilled, unpeated single malt. Hazelburn single malt debuted in 2005 and each year only about 15000 liters are produced, thus the supply is strictly limited. The newest expression of Hazelburn, 2003 Vintage, comprises whisky aged exclusively in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, first fill and refill, and bottled at 47.1% abv in March 2017. Only 12000 bottles were produced.

Finish: pretty long and nutty, with notes of dark chocolate, candied orange peel and coffee liquor.
