New whisky for tasting in Jastrzębia Góra

Scapa 14 years old / 40% – Scapa Distillery is located close to Kirkwall, the capital of Orkney. It’s been producing whisky since 1885, always in the shadow of its famous neighbor Highland Park. In 1954 Scapa became part of Hiram Walker & Sons and supplied malt to the Ballantine brand. The distillery was mothballed from 1994 to 2004 with the Highland Park crew doing several batches each year. Since 2005 it has been part of Chivas Bros, subsidiary of Pernod Ricard, and after major renovation work completed in 2005 it is running at full capacity producing close to 1.3 million liters of spirit per annum. The 14 years old expression was introduced in 2004 as a replacement of 12 years old and remained part of the core range until 2008.
