Octomore 10 years old, 2nd Release (167 ppm) / 57,3% – On October 23, 2002 Bruichladdich distilled first batch of the Octomore spirit. The brand takes its name from the neighboring farm, the owners of which distilled allegedly extremely peated whisky between 1816 and 1840. It was introduced in 2008 and immediately achieved cult status. To keep the ppm level as high as possible Octomore is bottled at relatively young age, usually after 5-6 years of aging. In 2016 we welcomed quite old expression of Octomore. The spirit was distilled in December 2005 using malt peated to 167 ppm. Filled into fresh bourbon and Grenache Blanc casks, it spent the next decade in the stone warehouse in the village of Port Charlotte, close to western shore of Loch Indaal. Bottled at natural strength of 57.3% abv with an outrun of 18 000 bottles.
