The Glenlivet 21YO Triple Cask Finish, The Sample Room Collection /43%/ – The most recent addition to the Glenlivet range introduced in the summer of 2022 was The Sample Room Collection. The Sample Room at the Glenlivet Distillery is an epicenter for creativity and originality, a place for pushing the boundaries of flavor and breaking traditions. A group of professional tasters spends time tasting, refining, and redefining flavor to create new dimensions of taste. The Sample Room Collection consists of three expressions; the 21 years old has been crafted by finishing whisky in three casks – first fill Oloroso sherry, Tronçais oak cognac and Colheita port.
Nose: sweet and fruity, ripe peaches and apricots, pears in syrup, cherries, toffee, honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and distinctive port notes.
Palate: delicate notes of sherry and port, dried apricots and dates, black cherries, raisins and sultanas, honey, candied ginger, nutmeg, and hints of oak.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of sherry, port, sweet dried fruits, nutmeg, ginger, dash of pepper and oak.
