Glentauchers 13 years old (D.2009, B.2022) Artist Collective #6.4 / 48%/ – ‘Artist Collective’ was introduced in 2017 by the Parisian retailer La Maison du Whisky as a sub-range to the prestigious ‘Artist’ range. While the latter is a selection of single cask bottlings, Artist Collective in most cases falls into small batch (or rather very small batch) category. Label of each whisky is adorned with a work of contemporary artists from different backgrounds, what makes each edition extremely appealing. Glentauchers 2009 was part of the Artist Collective sixth series released in 2022. The whisky was aged in two first fill sherry butts and bottled at 48% abv with an outrun of 1719 bottles. The label features artwork “Peinture Ideographique IV” by French minimalist Yanis Khannoussi.
Nose: rich, musk and incense, geranium, lavender, bitter orange marmalade, limes, dried apricots, licorice, hints of honey and cedar wood.
Palate: milk chocolate, honey, toffee, apricots, mango, quince jelly, grapes, figs, elderberry liqueur, candied ginger, dash of allspice and oak.
Finish: long and smooth, with notes of caramel, maple syrup, oranges, cinnamon, clove, dash of pepper and oak.
