Auchroisk 11 years old (D.2007, B.2018) Mossburn Vintage Cask No. 10 /57,4%/ – Mossburn Distillers & Blenders, founded 2013, is fully owned subsidiary of Dutch Drinks group Marussia Beverages BV. The company owns Torabhaig Distillery on the Isle of Skye, which went into production in January 2017, and also acts as an Independent Bottler. The Mossburn Vintage Casks range is a collection of single malt Scotch whiskies each issuing from a strictly limited and select batch of casks. Mossburn Vintage Cask # 10 comprises Auchroisk whisky distilled in 2007, aged in single hogshead for 11 years then bottled at natural strength of 57.4% abv and without chill filtration on August 23, 2018. Built in 1974 Auchroisk Distillery is owned by Diageo and equipped with four pairs of stills produces close to 6 million liters of spirit per annum, most of which goes into the company vast blended whisky portfolio.
Nose: malted barley, apples, pears, caramel, vanilla, acacia honey, sweet pastries, walnuts, mixed fresh herbs and delicate oaky notes.
Palate: slightly spirity, vanilla custard, butterscotch, honey, hard candy, apples, white tea, cinnamon buns, dash of mixed dried herbs and toasted oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, honey, brown sugar, dash of white pepper and oak tannins.
