Kilchoman Small Batch, La Comptoir Irlandais, Bourbon/Oloroso/Cognac /50,6%/
Kilchoman Distillery started producing whisky in 2005. The expansion completed in 2018 doubled its capacity to 460,000 liters of spirit per annum. Kilchoman is one of the handful Scottish distilleries, which still malts barley on site, however own maltings cover about 25% of malt requirements. The remaining part is supplied by Port Ellen Maltings. Here we have Kilchoman distilled from barley malted to specification of 50ppm and aged in three types of casks: ex-bourbon barrels (70%), ex-Oloroso sherry casks (5%), and cognac casks (25%). The whisky was bottled at 50.6% abv for the French distributor Le Comptoir Irlandais in 2022 with an outrun of 1260 bottles.
