The GlenDronach Forgue 10 years old /43%/ – GlenDronach Forgue was introduced in the early fall of 2018 as Global Travel Retail exclusive. The whisky is named after valley of Forgue, in which the GlenDronach Distillery is located and it is a vatting of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks bottled at natural color and without chill-filtration. GlenDronach is modest in size distillery located in Aberdeenshire in Scottish Highlands, since 2016 owned by Brown-Forman Corporation. It is equipped with two pairs of stills capable of distilling 1.4 million liters of spirit per annum. GlenDronach has always been famous for Sherry cask maturation expertise and the Forgue expression just follows this long-standing tradition.
Nose: distinctive sherry notes, oranges, black cherries, pears, raisins, vanilla, honey, cinnamon, almonds, dash of pepper and cocoa powder.
Palate: sweet and fruity, raisins, blackberries, peaches, dark chocolate, honey, nutmeg, hazelnuts and trace of tobacco.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of ripe berries, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper and toasted oak.
