The Glenlivet 20 years old, American Oak Barrel Dom Whisky Collection /58,9%/ – In recent years the company has expanded their range adding several single cask expressions, always personally selected by master distiller Alan Winchester. We have purchased our first cask from the distillery in 2017; it was later released as Glenlivet Blairick Hill 16 years old. The whisky sold very well and earned excellent reviews. Consequently, we became partners in ‘The Glenlivet Single Cask Program’, which gave us access to the best casks from the distillery inventory. The whisky presented here is an outcome of cooperation of Dom Whisky and Mr. Winchester – distilled on June 5, 2001 it spent 20 years in ex-bourbon barrel # 18104 then was bottled at natural strength of 58.9% abv and without chill filtration in September 2021. The barrel yielded 162 bottles.
Nose: fruity and slightly floral, spring meadow, apples, peaches, pineapples, vanilla, honey, toffee, buttered croissant, hints of coconut flakes and toasted oak.
Palate: honey, vanilla, butterscotch, ripe apples and pears, greengages, orange peel, lemon sponge cake, coconut flakes, walnuts, lemon grass and well-integrated oak.
Finish: long and fruity, with notes of citrus, juicy orchard fruits, coconut, vanilla cream, toffee, honey and toasted oak.
