Minor Case Rye Whiskey Sherry Cask Finished /45%/ – Minor Case Rye was introduced in February 2017 by Limestone Branch Distillery. The brand commemorates Minor Case Beam, a descendant of Jacob Beam, whose distilling career effectively ended in 1920 (he passed away soon after the repeal of prohibition). Minor Case’s specialty was rye whiskey. The branch of the family returned to whisky-making in 2010, when Steve and Paul Beam opened Limestone Branch Distillery. Minor Case Rye is distilled and aged for 2 years at MGP distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, then transferred into ex-sherry casks sourced from Meier’s Winery for up to 8 months.
Nose: soft, summer meadow, red currants, sour cherries, toffee, vanilla, caramel, orange peel and dash of rye spice.
Palate: slightly alcoholic, red berries, raisins, milk chocolate, cinnamon, white pepper, hints of tobacco and leather.
Finish: medium long, with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, caramel and pepper.
