Nikka Gold was launched in November 1955 as one of the first premium blends bottled under Nikka brand, while the Gold & Gold version, a blended malt, followed in 1968. The bottle’s official name was ‘Shirobin’ what means ‘White’ in Japanese, despite the label being black. Gold & Gold Samurai edition is exclusive to Travel Retail in Japan. It is produced at Yoichi Distillery and the label indicates that it has been made of whiskies distilled in pot still and patent still. Each bottle is fashioned with removable metallic samurai armor and helmet piece.
