Kamiki Japanese Whisky Blended Malt Batch No. 003 /48%/ – Kamiki is a whisky brand from Yoshino Sprits, a company specializing in import and distribution of premium alcoholic beverages, with head office in Osaka. The company doesn’t reveal too many details about the brand stating: “It is a blended malt whisky made with Japanese malts combined with specially selected malt whiskies from around the world”. After blending process is completed the whisky is finished in casks made from Yoshino-Sugi (commonly known as Japanese cedar). Kamiki production is protected by Omiwa Temple priests. Omiwa is one of the oldest extant Shinto shrine in Japan and has been protecting local alcohol producers for over 1000 years. The name of the brand is a combination of two words, kami (God) and iki (breath).
Nose: smooth and fragrant, orange blossom, bananas, baked apples, green tea, cedar wood and hints of cardamom.
Palate: light and floral, notes of hay and pine needles, apples, grapes, tangerines, vanilla and subtle herbal note.
Finish: medium long, light, with notes of vanilla, apples, pears, dash of pepper and faintest hint of peat.
