Green Spot Quails’ Gate /46%/ – Green Spot Quail’s Gate is the third release of “Wine Geese” series, initiated in 2015 2015 with the launch of Château Léoville Barton. “Wine Geese” refers to Irishmen passionate about wine, who left their homeland in pursuit of a passion, which could be fulfilled only outside of Ireland. Quail’s Gate Winery in located on the shore of Okanagan Lake in British Columbia. It was founded by the Stewart family, who immigrated to Canada from Kildare, Ireland in 1908. Today, they produce some of Canada’s most exquisite wines, including their award-winning Family Reserve Pinot Noir. Green Spot Quail’s Gate was aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks then finished in ex-Pinot Noir casks for additional 16 months.
Nose: fruity, black cherries, raspberries, red apples, pears, banana bread, vanilla cream, toffee, cinnamon, dash of clove and toasted oak.
Palate: red apples, cranberry relish, raisins, vanilla, honey, milk chocolate, marzipan, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and hints of oak tannins.
Finish: medium long, with notes of red berries, mulling spice, vanilla, milk chocolate, and toasted oak.
