Jameson Five Oak Cask Release /46%/ – Jameson, originally pure pot still whiskey (by today’s standards single pot still), was reformulated in the late 20th Century and became a blend. To our knowledge, the last release of Jameson Pure Pot Still was 15 years old Millennium Edition from 2000; in fact one of the best Irish whiskeys we have ever tasted. More than 20 years later the Jameson people did what seemed to be impossible – they released Jameson single pot still whiskey, triple distilled from malted and unmalted barley in copper pot stills. Maturation occurred in combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, and three different types of virgin oak – Irish, European and American. The first batch was released in 2022 with an outrun of 3000 cases.
