Knappogue Castle 12 years old, Finished in Marchesi di Barolo Wine Cask / 46%/ – Knappogue Castle is a brainchild of Mark Andrews III, founder of Castle Brands (formerly Great Spirits) and big admirer of Irish whiskey. In the 1960s his father Mark Edwin Andrews bought and renovated the 15th Century Knappogue Castle, in County Clare. (Mark Edwin Andrews was a Navy officer, Assistant Secretary under president Truman, who enjoyed lucrative post-naval career in the oil business).
