GlenDronach Single Cask 2017
The GlenDronach 25 years old (D.1992, B.2017) Single Cask #89 / 57% – In May 2017 GlenDronach Distillery revealed details of Batch 15 single cask selection. For the first time the casks have not been selected by Billy Walker, who is now the owner of Glenallachie Distillery. On March 1st he was replaced by Rachel Barrie, a female legend in the industry, who held master blender post at Morrison Bowmore for the last 5 years before working for Glenmorangie for 16 years. The newest batch contains 6 single cask bottlings all distilled in the 1990s. Miss Barrie picked up two casks filled in 1992. Here we have ex-sherry butt # 89 (the label does not state was it Oloroso or PX sherry) filled on May 15, 1992. A quarter of a century later the butt yielded 595 bottles at 57% abv.
