Gouden Carolus Anker Cask Finish /46%/ – Gouden Carolus single malt is a brainchild of Charles Leclef, the owner of Brouwerij Het Anker. He started distilling whisky at his brewery in 2003 using mash of Gouden Carolus Tripel beer. Gouden Carolus single malt debuted in 2008 and two years later Leclef built the new distillery at the family estate Molenberg, in Blaasfeld. The whisky is distilled in traditional copper pot stills and aged in first fill bourbon barrels for about 30 months then finished for a minimum of six months in ‘Anker’ casks (oak casks reworked by the cooper according to the company specifications). Gouden Carolus Anker Cask Finish scored silver medal at the 2017 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
