Big Moustache American Single Malt Whiskey /45%/ – Big Moustache is an American whiskey brand from the BBC Spirits portfolio, the company founded in Bordeaux in 2010 by Bogdan Tanasoiu and Bertrand Fradin. The company started as a wine trader and expanded into distilled spirits, including vodka, gin, whisky, rum, and tequila. The Big Moustache brand consists of three expressions: rye, Tennessee and single malt whiskey. The latter was distilled from malted barley imported from the UK in column stills by Tennessee Distilling Company, and aged in ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of three years. The whiskey is bottled at 45% abv.
Nose: malted barley, brown sugar, vanilla, roasted peanuts, apples, orange peel, hints of licorice, and toasted oak.
Palate: vanilla, caramel, barbecued ribs, roasted almonds and nuts, dried apricots, milk chocolate, dash of pepper and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of caramel, vanilla, dried fruits, hints of pepper, hay and oak.
