New rare whisky for tasting on Nowy Świat in Warsaw

The Balvenie Classic 18 year old (Bottled 1980s) / 43% – In 1892, five years after founding Glenfiddich, William Grant started working on Balvenie Distillery. For that reason and to protect the water source (Robbie Dubh spring) Grant purchased adjacent land including New Balvenie Castle. Just like in case of Glenfiddich the original stills were purchased second-hand, this time from Lagavulin and Glen Albyn distilleries. The first official bottling of Balvenie was launched in 1973, ten years after Glenfiddich became the first single malt marketed outside of Scotland. Balvenie Classic was a brainchild of David Stewart, the company Malt Master. Introduced in the early 1980s the initial Classic was NAS whisky, soon replaced with 12 and 18 years old expressions.
