New whiskies for tasting in Wrocław and Jastrzębia Góra

In the fall of 2019 Glenmorangie Distillery introduced new Travel Retail range featuring three brand new expressions, all three created by Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie Director of Distilling, Whisky Creation & Whisky Stock. The range was given an exclusive launch in Dubai International Airport in October 2019 and a global release the following spring.

Glenmorangie The Accord 12 years old / 43%/ – Creating The Accord, the youngest expression in the range, Bill Lumsden was “inspired with the classic marriage of casks. Selecting a smooth, fruity Glenmorangie aged in bourbon barrels he carefully balanced it with a sweet, spicy whisky matured in Oloroso sherry butts. Named to reflect its perfect harmony of casks, the Accord brims with rich, fruit notes and Glenmorangie’s signature finesse.”Nose: rich and nicely balanced, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, maple syrup, milk chocolate, oranges, baked apples, walnuts and raisins.

Palate: delicate sherry notes, vanilla, raisins, cappuccino, sugared almonds, chocolate-coated plums, dried dates, toffee, marzipan and a touch of clove.

Finish: fairly long, with notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, nutmeg, ginger, clove, hints of leather and oak.

Glenmorangie The Elementa 14 years old /43%/ – The Elementa 14 years old, described as “spicy and deep” was aged in American oak ex-bourbon barrels then finished in new charred oak casks. The Elementa celebrates the art of finishing maturation, an art Glenmorangie has been mastering for four decades. As the name suggests the whisky’s taste reflects the natural influence of the new wood.Nose: vanilla, toffee, milk chocolate, oranges, nectarines, ginger cookies, clove, allspice, black pepper, roasted nuts and charred oak.

Palate: sweet and spicy, milk chocolate, vanilla cream, candied ginger, clove, cinnamon, grapefruits, currants and a touch of rosemary.

Finish: medium long and well balanced, with notes of vanilla, honey, walnuts, ginger, clove and oak.

Glenmorangie The Tribute 16 years old /43%/ – The Tribute, the oldest expression in the range, celebrates the distillery’s former use of peat to dry barley. To honor the distillery heritage Lumsden distilled rare, lightly peated spirit with a hint f smoke. The whisky was aged in ex-bourbon casks for 16 years and united with Glenmorangie signature spirit then bottled at 43% abv.Nose: floral and mildly smoky, spring meadow, moist forest floor, vanilla, white chocolate, orange and lemon peel, pineapple and a touch of coconut flakes.

Palate: smooth, vanilla cream, toffee, oranges, pears, pink grapefruits, roasted nuts, salted caramel, hints of aniseed and distant whiff of smoke.

Finish: fairly long, with notes of citrus, vanilla, toffee, roasted nuts and lingering peat smoke.
