#Arran Brodick Bay 20 years old, The Explorer Series /49,8% / – In the spring of 2018 Arran Distillery introduced the Explorer Series, a collection of limited editions of the Arran single malt. Each edition celebrates the outstanding scenic beauty and diversity of nature on the Isle of Arran. Brodick is a main town on Isle of Arran sitting half way along the east coast of the island, in Brodick Bay below Goat Fell, the tallest mountain on Arran. The name is derived from Norse roots meaning “Broad Bay”. Arran Brodick Bay is a 20 years old single malt matured in both bourbon barrels and sherry hogsheads before being finished in Oloroso sherry butts sourced from Bodegas Tradicion in Jerez de la Frontera. Only 9000 bottles were produced.
Nose: smooth, vanilla cream, toffee, peaches, mango, baked apples, banana bread, walnuts, raisins and subtle oaky notes.
Palate: rich, toffee, honey, vanilla, prunes, dried apricots and dates, orange peel, raisins, dark chocolate, dash of pepper and well integrated oakiness.
Finish: long, with notes of dried fruit, raisins, toffee, vanilla, hints of pepper and nutmeg and delicate oaky dryness.
