New Glenmorangie in Jastrzębia Góra and Warsaw
Glenmorangie The Cadboll /43%/ – The Cadboll is the third permanent addition to the Glenmorangie Legends Collection, a unique series of single malt whiskies created by Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Distilling, Whisky Creation & Whisky Stocks. The whisky pays homage to a precious 16th Century silver wine cup treasured by Macleods of Cadboll, whose connections with Glenmorangie’s homeland run deep. In 1699 they created Glenmorangie House (then Cadboll House) a few miles from where the distillery now stands. The Cadboll was aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in barriques, which previously held sweet French wines such as those of Sémillon and Muscat grapes, and bottled at 43% abv exclusively for Travel Retail.
Nose: dry and sweet at the same time, freshly baked bread, brioche, vanilla, candied lemon and orange peel, ripe grapes and hints of oak.
Palate: smooth and rich, chocolate chip cookies, cotton candy, toffee, vanilla, oranges, peaches and delicate floral and mineral notes.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, strawberry preserve, lemon drops and touches of pepper and oak.
