Dailuaine 19 years old (D.1997, B.2017) Signatory Vintage /46%/Dailuaine translates from the Gaelic to ‘green vale’ and the name perfectly describes the distillery setting. It is pretty big distillery, equipped with three pairs of stills can produce 5.2 million liters of spirit per annum. Dailuaine is owned by Diageo and almost entire production goes into vast company blended whisky portfolio with a miniscule being bottled as single malt. The 19 years old expression, part of Signatory Vintage The Un-chillfiltered Collection, comprises whisky distilled on May 21, 1997 and aged in two hogsheads, nos. 7216 and 7217, filled on May 21, 1997. Bottled at 46% abv and obviously without chill-filtration on February 15, 2017.

Nose: malty and slightly waxy, apples, pears, lemons, pine needles, vanilla, touch of marzipan, sweet pastries and delicate oaky notes.

Palate: vanilla, brown sugar, apples, gooseberries, pears, orange and lemon peels, hints of cinnamon and cloves and little oak in the background.

Finish: fairly long, fruity with spicy tang.
