New whisky for tasting in Wroclaw

Speymalt from Macallan Distillery (D.1994, B.2014) G&M /43%/0,7l – Gordon & MacPhail is custodian to some of the finest and rarest single malts. The company has been bottling whisky since the late 19th Century and today no less than 300 expressions are released annually under the G&M logo. Speymalt is a result of over 100 years long fruitful collaboration between the famous distillery and equally famous bottler, in fact it is a separate rage in Gordon & MacPhail portfolio. It is hard to say how many casks of Macallan whisky is stored in G&M warehouses but we have heard that the distillery owners have repeatedly been forced to buy the stock at G&M. Speymalt has been bottled by vintage on annual basis, the 2014 release contains whisky distilled in 1994 and aged in combination of first fill and refill sherry butts.
Nose: fruity and slightly waxy with very shy sherry statement, oranges, bananas, apples, pears, traces of cappuccino, hints of pepper and aniseed and oak.
Palate: fruity with distinctive spicy notes, apples, grapes, oranges, pineapple, vanilla, honey, cocoa, lemon pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and oak.
Finish: pretty long with notes of vanilla, honey, oak and tropical fruits.
