Glenmorangie 13 years old, Barrel Select Cognac Cask Finish /46%/ – Glenmorangie Distillery is unquestionable pioneer as well as a leader in finishing maturation. The company has been experimenting constantly and each year along with “everyday finishes” such as sherry (Lasanta), port (Quinta Ruban) and sauternes (Nectar D’Òr) releases new and unique expressions. In August 2020 Glenmorangie launched Malaga Cask Finish, a forerunner to the Barrel Select range. A year later the second edition of Barrel Select was released, Glenmorangie whisky distilled in 2008 was aged in American oak barrels for over eight years and finished for additional four years in cognac casks. To prevent cognac dominance over the whisky dr. Bill Lumsden used casks, which had been filled several times.
