Old Perth Blended Malt Number 1 Release /43%/ – The Old Perth brand was created in the early 20th Century by the Thomson family, Perth grocers and spirit merchants, who around 1910 established own whisky blends. Peter Thomson, the company founder, had strong relations with Macallan and included it in the original formula. Despite being regarded as one of the best blends available Old Perth’s sales were stagnant and the company replaced it with Beneagles De Luxe in the late 1960s. The brand changed hands several times; finally Morrison & MacKay purchased it from Whyte & Mackay in 2014. We have heard that today main components of Old Perth formula are Aultmore, Tomatin, Mortlach and Ben Nevis aged from four to six years.
