Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Sweet Peat / 40,8% / – Johnnie Walker Sweet Peat was introduced in the fall of 2018 as part of the Blenders’ Batch range. The key components of the blend are Caol Ila, Cardhu and Glendullan, the latter aged predominantly in ex-sherry casks, and several other Speyside malts as well as grain whisky. The whisky is a creation of two experienced Diageo master blenders, Jim Beveridge and George Harper. Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch range was launched in 2016 and featuring the outcomes of almost decade long experiments with different stages of whisky production – malting, fermentation, distillation and most of all maturation.
Nose: sweet and smoky, apples, pears, oranges, caramel, hints of pepper and ginger, peat smoke and a whiff of sea breeze.
Palate: soft, breakfast cereals, apples, plums, bananas, orange peel, vanilla, salted caramel, dash of pepper and peat smoke.
Finish: medium long, with notes of apples, oranges, milk chocolate, caramel and peat smoke.
