Another masterpiece created by Whyte & Mackay Master Blender Richard Paterson. After spending 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks the whisky was transferred to 30 years old Matusalem Oloroso sherry butts for additional 4 years. The casks for the final maturation were sourced from the famous sherry house Gonzales Byass. Dalmore 18 has been part of the distillery core range since 2009.
Nose: very rich and complex, vanilla, dark chocolate, oranges, plums and sherried oak.
Palate: big and nicely balanced, dark chocolate, caramel, rich coffee, prunes and dried apricots, hints of cinnamon and cloves.
Finish: long, beautiful combination of citrus, dark chocolate and oak.
