New scotch for tasting in Wrocław
Balblair 2004 (Bottled 2017) 1st Release, Bourbon Matured /46%/ – Balblair Distillery sits in Tain, fairly close to Glenmorangie Distillery. It was founded in 1790, what makes it one of the oldest operating Scottish distilleries. The name Balblair means “battlefield” and was possibly coined when the Vikings invaded this part of Scotland about a thousand years ago. The distillery is owned by Inver House Distillers, who acquired it from Allied Domecq in 1996. Since 2007 Balblair single malt has been widely marketed by distillation year instead of age and the brand sales are steadily increasing. The first 2017 release of Balblair 2004 Vintage was launched exclusively for Travel Retail and comprises whisky aged exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels.
