Ledaig 18 years old, Sherry Cask Finish /46,3%/ –
Ledaig (Gaelic for ‘safe heaven’) is one of two whisky brands from the picturesque Tobermory Distillery located on the Isle of Mull. The distillery produces 750,000 liters of spirit per annum with 50:50 split between two brands, standard Tobermory distilled from un-peated malt and Ledaig distilled from barley malted to specification of 35-40 ppm. Ledaig 18 years old was introduced in 2015 and represents the rebirth of malt whisky style that was originally produced on the island. After being aged in refill oak barrels the whisky is finished in ex-sherry casks then bottled and 46.3% abv without chill-filtration. Ledaig 18, part of the distillery core range, is being released in small batches.
