New scotch for tasting in Warsaw


Old Pulteney 23 years old, 1990 Vintage, Lightly Peated /46%/ – Old Pulteney 1990 Vintage is described on the label as “lightly peated”, it has not been distilled from peated malt. In fact it is standard Old Pulteney aged in combination of ex- bourbon and ex-sherry casks that previously held heavily peated spirit. Bottled in 2014 at 46% abv with an outrun of 900 bottles.

Nose: malty, with delicate smoky notes, apples, pears, grapes, oranges, honey, traces of pepper and oak and gentle herbal notes.

Palate: peat is more pronounced now, notes of sea breeze and seaweed, grapefruits, oranges, some honey and raisins and dash of lemon pepper.

Finish: long, slightly smoky and salty, pepper, oak and delicate fruitiness.
