Templeton Rye Maple Cask Finish /46%/ – Maple Cask Finish is the first expression in Templeton Rye “Barrel Finish Series”. The edition is created in collaboration with Wood’s Vermont Syrup Co. the family owned company, which has been making maple syrup for the past 125 years. First, Wood’s shipped fresh maple syrup from Randolph, Vermont to the Templeton Distillery in Iowa. From there the syrup was heated and filled into 80 ex-Templeton rye barrels and left to sit for a period of two months to influence the wood over time. The barrels have been emptied then and filled with Templeton rye whiskey for additional two months. While Templeton began to distill own spirit in 2018 the whiskey for that limited edition was sourced from MGP Ingredients Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
