Laphroaig Càirdeas Fino Cask Finish (2018 Release) /51,8%/ –
Laphroaig Càirdeas (the word means ‘friendship’ in Gaelic) was introduced in 2008, a limited edition of 3600 bottles released for the Friends of Laphroaig for the annual Fèis Ìle (the Islay Festival of Whisky and Music). Three years later Laphroaig released Càirdeas, as limited edition, to the public. The 2018 Festival bottling comprised whisky aged initially in first fill bourbon barrels then finished in Fino sherry casks and bottled at natural strength of 51.8% abv without chill-filtration. Since 2012 Càirdeas’ abv matches the last two numbers of the year in which it’s produced: 51.8% for 2018.
