New scotch single grain for tasting in Warsaw


Invergordon 30 years old (D.1988, B.2019) XOP Douglas Laing /54,2%/ – Fred Laing, who parted ways with his brother and business partner Stewart the year before, splitting portfolio of Douglas Laing & Co, introduced the XOP range in 2014. The abbreviation stands for Xtra Old Particular and the range consists of the best of the best single malt and single grain whiskies from the family vaults. Invergordon is the only Scottish grain distillery located in Scottish Highlands. The distillery is owned by Whyte & Mackay, since 2014 subsidiary of Emperador Inc., and produces over 40 million liters of spirit per annum with most of the output going into company’s blends. Invergordon 30 years old was distilled in August 1988 and aged in refill butt # DL 13575. It was launched as part of XOP range in July 2019 with an outrun of 440 bottles.

Nose: sweet cereals, caramel, maple syrup, toffee, vanilla, marzipan, raisins, hazelnuts, hints of nutmeg and cinnamon and oak.

Palate: vanilla cream, milk chocolate, crème brûlée, honey-roasted nuts, banana bread, cinnamon, clove and oak.

Finish: fairly long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, cocoa, orange peel, mulling spice and oak.
