Isle of Jura 13 years old Two-One-Two / 47,5%/ –
The Two-One-Two Limited Edition Series celebrates small and vibrant community of roughly 212 Isle of Jura residents and one distillery. The inaugural bottling, the first in a series of annual releases, has been matured in white American oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Chinkapin oak casks. Chinkapin (Quercus Muehlenbergii) is a sub-specie of white American oak that grows in the areas of the north-east United States, including the Ozarks in Missouri. Kirsteen Beeston, head of international malts at Whyte & Mackay, owner of the distillery, said: “by celebrating the people who make up our community we are not only acknowledging the fundamental role they play in our whisky, we are also highlighting the vital role of community to the Jura brand”. Jura Two-One-Two was released in 2019 with an outrun of 6000 bottles.
